Volunteers are the backbone that make what we do possible. We are glad you are interested in volunteering with us. There are three different places we need volunteers at the food bank; each have unique experiences. We will break them down below for you, and let you decide which one fits you best!
Product Recovery
In this area, volunteers will help sort and clean donated product. Volunteers can expect to some light lifting and some mild exertion during the time.
Time: Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm (during these time,all volunteers MUST be 18 or older)
Thursday 6 pm - 10 pm, and Saturday 9 am - noon (Ages Middle school or older, exceptions made)

Garden Volunteers
In The Garden, volunteers will plant, harvest, compost, pull weeds, and a variety of tasks required for to make The Garden the success it is! Volunteers can expect some bending, and in being in the sun. We suggest bringing water, and sunscreen (we also provide water).
Time: All ages welcome
Monday 1 pm - 4:30pm
Tuesday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Saturday By Request 9 am - noon

Kids Cafe
In our Kids Cafes after school feeding programs is perfect for volunteers who would like to make a long-term commitment. These volunteers will take 2 hours out of their day to help serve the meals at the various locations throughout the Amarillo area. A background check is required for all who want to volunteer, making this a long-term commitment in as little as one day a week.
Times: Various mostly 4 pm - 5:30ish
