Mobile Harvest

Mobile Harvest is a program of the High Plains Food Bank which aims to minimize food waste and empower healthy choices in food insecure households by providing access to nutritious fruits and vegetables for free. Twice a week, we fill up our food truck with any produce that’s available and distribute it farmer’s market-style at our partnering agencies, Heal the City Free Clinic, Acts Community Resource Center, and New Hope Baptist Church.

It takes a lot of manpower to move the thousands of pounds of produce we distribute on average each week, and we need the help of volunteers in order to keep this program operating smoothly. During each shift, volunteers will help load the truck at the HPFB warehouse, unload and set up a stand at the distribution site, fill sacks for the recipients, and help clean up and break down boxes before leaving the site. If you’d like to volunteer for the Mobile Harvest program, please fill out the form below.
