POSITION SUMMARY:
High Plains Food Bank (HPFB) seeks a Development Data Manager to join our team! The Development Data Manager upholds the critical role of managing, interpreting, and enhancing donor data. Clear, actionable data is foundational to maximizing ROI and engaging supporters with our mission. The Development Data Manager will oversee data entry, donor acknowledgments, data standard operating policies and procedures (SOPs), reporting, and the recurring donor program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data standardization and reporting, be tech-savvy, coachable, possess excellent troubleshooting skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced and constantly evolving team environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Documents, maintains, and implements Bloomerang (database) standard operating policies and procedures (SOPs) for entry, maintenance, reporting, and sharing to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to legal standards.
  • Accurately enters supporter and gift information as completely as possible.
  • Researches incomplete donor and/or donation information to fill in gaps.
  • Generates and sends acknowledgement letters and annual statements.
  • Interacts courteously, professionally, and positively with donors to process gifts, answer questions, and resolve issues.
  • Stewards recurring donors and coordinates the recurring donor program.
  • Responsible for imports or data-syncs of external data and should work toward complete data integration to eliminate data silos between data sources and tech stack so Bloomerang is the central source of truth.
  • Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications.
  • Work with Finance to provide transaction information and reports, troubleshoot issues, and reevaluate procedures and systems to improve gift tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Provides event planning, community engagement, and fundraising support, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Team player with a “can do” attitude.
  • Accuracy diligence, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently organize and complete work.
  • Motivated self-starter who can work independently with little supervision.
  • Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions.
  • Tech savvy and proficient in operating computers, Microsoft Office software, database software (especially Bloomerang), and performing imports, exports and online research.
  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Great problem-solving skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum two or more years of CRM (constituent relationship management) database experience, preferably Bloomerang.
  • Experience establishing/maintaining standard operating processes is highly preferred.

  • The employee will dependably report to work Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional before/after hours and weekend work required.

This work is performed primarily in an office while sitting at a computer terminal for extended periods. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to/working near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally required to work in outdoor conditions, extreme weather, and non-weather cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
