Food Company Donations

The High Plains Food Bank partners with food retailers, farmers, and other food industry partners to gratefully accept food donations that can lead to cost savings, tax benefits, and media exposure while protecting your company from liability. We work with food company partners to coordinate regularly scheduled pickups as well as special, one-off donations.

Donating food makes good business sense:

Cost Savings– In salvaging food and nonfood products, your company eliminates dumping cost.

Inventory Control– A food donation can help reduce your surplus of hard-to-move inventory.

Company Promotion– High Plains Food Bank promotes our food donors through a variety of communications and marketing materials from our newsletter, social media, website, and media outreach.

Community Goodwill– Your support and goodwill will win you the respect of the community.

Proud Staff– Your employees feel good about their company’s role in making a difference in our community.

Efficient Distribution– Your donation will be quickly distributed to neighbors in need through our partner agencies and direct feeding programs. These are monitored to ensure that your donated product does not reenter the marketplace.

Instant Feedback– Your donation will be tracked and documented, and High Plains Food Bank will provide you with a receipt.

Legal Protection– Your company is protected from liability by the Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act, which is a federal law that provides a national standard regarding food donation and provides donors with consistent liability information.

If you’re interested in partnering with High Plains Food Bank to rescue and redistribute your salvage, please contact Zachery Carrillo, director of food sourcing, at zachc@hpfb.org or 806-350-1437.
